This is the second baby quilt I have made for a friend.
The colors of her nursery are grey and yellow.
She is having a sweet little boy.
I knew I wanted the quilt to match the nursery but it was a challenge at first to find enough fabrics that would coordinate. Luckily, JoAnn had packages of 5x5 squares and a roll of strips in various patterns and colors of grey, white, yellow, and black.
Normally my favorite part of making a quilt is to pick out the fabrics, this time I was thankful they had packages of the colors I needed.
It also made putting the quilt together much easier because they were pre-cut.
I went with a pretty simple quilt pattern with stripes and circles.
Boy quilts are so much harder! I am always drawn to the flowers and ruffles of little girl things.
I used the packages of fabrics from JoAnn and added some coordinating fabrics from my scraps.
Scraps are the best!
I appliqued the circles on my machine.
Here is the finished quilt!
I took the quilt to the quilt lady that machine quilted it with this pattern.
I love how it turned out! I went with a grey thread so it would show up and display the pattern.
This is the label and backing fabric.
I loved planning and putting this quilt together (with my mom's help of course) for my sweet friend.
It has been such a joy to watch her through this special time in her life. I CANNOT wait to meet this precious boy that has been prayed for, he is going to be so loved.
